When fish are actively feeding, the reflections and flash off their darting silver bodies alert other fish to the possibility of an easy meal. This, in essence, is what trolling attractors are designed to simulate. Dodgers and Flashers attract fish while also imparting additional action to trailing lures or baits. A Dodger is designed to swim sharply from side-to-side, while a Flasher rotates in a full 360-degree circle. Generally, both Dodgers and Flashers are incorporated at shallow depths, but as depth increases (over 50 feet), rotating flashers are considered the best attractors available.
