In the low-light hours of morning and evening, stained water, and in night fisheries where legal, the addition of a flashing red or chartreuse light increases the effectiveness of the lure dramatically. Constructed for application in both salmon and steelhead fisheries, the Lighted Kwikfish features an internally mounted flashing light and sealed battery. Activated by contact with water, the rearward facing light flashes in the face of approaching fish, evoking a savage response. Once dry, the light turns off. With a battery life of approximately 400 service hours, the Lighted Kwikfish provides a strategic advantage at the times when trophy fish bite best.
